A stunning collier

This beautiful new creation, consisting of 68.5 carats of gray spinels and chrysoberyls, was meticulously crafted. The design of such a collier takes a long time – each stone is hand-picked and carefully placed to display the treasures in perfect harmony. This beautiful jewel could be seen  at this year’s Inhorgenta Munich for the first time. The rather inconspicuous gray of the spinel and the almost glowing neon yellow of the chrysoberyl create an unexpectedly perfect combination. This contrasting play of colors in particular gives the arrangement a unique expression and makes for a real eye-catcher.

Noelle Gros, best gemstone cutter in Germany

We are happy to present three outstanding trainees, including Noelle Gros, who was honoured as the best gem cutter in Germany. Awarded top marks in the IHK examination in Berlin, Noelle emphasises the meditative nature of her work. She now works mornings in the cutting shop and afternoons in the office, taking care of quality control and newsletters, and plans to become a master craftsman to promote the craft. Noelle recommends that anyone interested should do an internship to discover their enthusiasm for the profession.

THREE TRAINEES, ALL WITH THE BEST GRADE!

At a festive event in the Rhein-Mosel-Halle last week, the Koblenz Chamber of Industry and Commerce honoured 233 graduates who passed their final exams in 2023 with top marks. The best of the year were honoured in person by Education Minister Dr Stefanie Hubig in the presence of representatives from training companies, politics, administration and society. Our three trainees:

Birkenfelder “Firmenlauf”

This year, the HC Arnoldi team was highly motivated and ready to take on a sporting challenge. With great enthusiasm they took part in the Birkenfeld company run.

A total of 7 runners and 3 walkers took to the starting line for the HC Arnoldi Team. Originally, even four more team members were supposed to take part, but unfortunately the run fell on the same date as our participation in the Vicenzaoro Fair in Italy.

The conditions were not easy, because although the weather was fantastic, the heat brought additional challenges, but the team mastered the run with flying colours. Everyone gave their best and successfully fought their way through the 5 kilometres.

One thing is for sure, we will be there in 2024! We are looking forward to it!

THE MANDARIN GARNET

Mandarin Garnet, also known as Spessartite, is a variety of Garnet prized for its vivid orange colour. This colour is due to the high proportion of manganese and iron in the crystal lattice.

Mandarin garnet was first discovered in Namibia in the 1990s and is now also mined in other countries such as Brazil, Madagascar and Tanzania. The quality of the gemstone depends on the intensity of the colour and the purity of the stone. Mandarin garnet is often used in jewellery such as rings, pendants and earrings. Due to its hardness, it is well suited for everyday use.

Overall, Mandarin Garnet is a unique and fascinating gemstone that is becoming increasingly popular due to its striking colour and rare occurrence.

Spinel

– the incredible imposter of gemstone history

Spinels form their own gemstone family but have a long history of masquerading as rubies. To state one prominent example, the world-famous center stone “Black Prince’s Ruby” in the English state crown was believed to be a ruby for several centuries, whereas in fact it is a red spinel. It was not until the 19th century that spinel was recognized as an independent mineral and the distinction between spinel and ruby gave birth to the science of gemology. Whilst the finest spinels still do not reach the prices of finest rubies, they are precious and valuable gemstones. Spinels have been gaining tremendous popularity over the past years – for good reason: With a Mohs hardness of 8, spinels are tough and durable in jewelry. They have excellent brilliance and spectacular liveliness. They exist in rich and bright colors such as vivid red, electric pink and cobalt blue; softer tones are lavender and elegant silver-gray shades.

Christmas 2022

This year, Hubert, Isaline and Carl-Philip Arnoldi have decided to forego traditional customer Christmas presents. Instead, HC Arnoldi is donating to the non-profit organisation “Partnership for Africa e.V.”, which supports children and young people in Tanzania. “Many charitable organisations have been severely affected by the Corona pandemic and by the impacts of the Ukraine war, therefore financial support for such organisations is particularly important this year,” explains Isaline Arnoldi.

“We wanted to give something back to the country where many of our rough stones come from,” says Carl-Philip Arnoldi. “Also, we are already supporting the organisation with gemhype.com in the start-up partnerships project.” The organisation has made it their mission to help children and young people lead independent lives through education and support so that they are eventually able to contribute to a stable society.

Hubert Arnoldi is convinced: “It is always the people who keep a society running and together. That is why we are happy to support the project and would like to express our appreciation for the tireless efforts of all those involved.”

The Art and Craft…

… of Gemstone Cutting – an Obituary

Shaped over millions of years and hidden in the remotest corners of the world, each gemstone is a unique gift of nature. When a rough gemstone is unearthed, it usually appears insignificant and unspectacular. Yet it carries its own unique story. Only when the hidden beauty of such a stone is discovered and highlighted through skilful cutting and polishing, it is transformed into a colourful and sparkling treasure that will be captivating for anybody looking at it.

This transformation through cutting and polishing requires a deep understanding of the rough stone material and profound knowledge and experience of how to unravel the stone’s magical beauty through precise and skilful work.

We have lost such an expert of gemstone transformation, our master gemstone cutter. We mourn the loss of a dear colleague whom we will remember fondly.

Namibia Tourmalines

Namibia is an extremely popular and fascinating destination known for high-quality diamonds. The southwest African country is also home to the world’s most sought-after deposits of green tourmalines. Especially the blue, blue-green and teal colours are of particular importance in the gemstone and jewelry trade.

The first tourmaline finds in Namibia date from before World War I, when a large cavity was accidentally discovered in a tin mine owned by the German Colonial Society, yielding tourmalines of various colours. The history of Namibian tourmalines is tightly interwoven with the colonial past of the German Empire and also with the history of Idar-Oberstein. In the course of the dissolution of the German Colonial Society, the tourmalines, which until then had received little to no attention, reached Hamburg, where they were stored in a goods shed until they were discovered by a gemstone dealer from Idar-Oberstein. However, the wonderful tourmalines only became recognized many years later.

These breath-taking treasures origin from the finds of a Namibian gemstone-pocket. The octagon shaped tourmalines are fresh from our cutting workshop, here is the result: an exceptional set of 24 stunning pieces of 108.89 carats.

Technology-assisted…

…gemstone cutting | HC Arnoldi is advancing the traditional gemstone cutting method using a faceting instrument called quadrant in German. What does that mean?

Traditionally, gemstones are faceted on a horizontally rotating diamond wheel and polished on a copper wheel. If a gemstone is to be faceted, it is attached to the end of a wooden stick. The rear end of this dop stick is rested in one of the holes of a vertically standing wooden board whilst the gem-bearing end is lowered until the stone touches the rotating wheel. The peg board is used to keep the chosen angle as stable as possible. Needless to say that it takes a remarkably skilled and experienced operator to know which hole to select and how much of a twist to give the dop stick to position the facet correctly.

Even more precise cutting and exactly calibrated series can be produced using the quadrant. This faceting instrument employs a mechanical device to insert and index the facet angles accurately. The metal dop arm, on which the stone is attached, can only be placed on the grinding wheel according to the inserted angle, which guarantees extremely precise results even with less experienced operators. However, all the facet angles must be available to the operator, which requires a lot of pioneering work with angle index listing that had and still has to be done at HC Arnoldi.

Since both gemstone cutting methods have their advantages, we at HC Arnoldi place great importance to working with both and passing them on to the younger generation.

An August´s night sky

Standing in the warmth of the night and looking upwards, we wait to see a shooting star streak across the sky. How we long to witness a never-ending shower of shooting stars. How many wishes we would make! As many as we have dreams.

She holds up her wrist and flashes her deep blue sparkling bracelet at us. Her gems light up mysteriously like the glowing firmament, this is the memory of an August´s night sky. She, the collector, she, the wearer, leaves nothing to chance. The rare gemstones on her wrist are blue gahnite spinels that are unearthed in only one single mine in the vast middle of nowhere in Nigeria. How they found her remains a secret. “You should see the beautifully crystallized octahedrons when the stones are brought to the surface,” she likes to say when asked about the dazzling bracelet, “that mathematical precision of nature.” And she would ask: “Are you familiar with chemistry?” If the asked person shakes her head, she would laugh and add: “Then I don’t want to bother you with low cobalt concentrations. Then just look at them as if you were looking at the vast night sky.”

Inhorgenta 2022

– back at the show after a two-year break

After a two-year break, Inhorgenta Munich took place shortly before Easter. Certainly the show saw a decrease in the number of exhibitors compared to 2019 and the audience was less international. But exhibitors and visitors were equally happy to finally be able to get into personal contact again. It was especially significant and interesting to meet some of our Gemhype online customers for the first time ever in person. These encounters were beyond doubt the highlights of the show.

We also enjoyed the visit of jewelry and gemstone influencer Katerina Perez to our booth. She is sharing some of her favorite gemstone picks on her Instagram account.

Color wise, minty green nuances and beautiful pink tones were particularly thought after. We are approaching summer and have an obvious desire for cheerful and bright colors.

Next, we are getting ready for GemGeneva in two weeks and look forward to continuing the lively exchange of ideas with our customers and friends.

Rainbows

We feel overwhelmed by this war. Being aware that feeling overwhelmed is actually a great luxury doesn’t make it any easier. Still, it is a luxury to feel overwhelmed while other people’s lives are in danger. Of course, thinking about color combinations and colored gemstones is an even greater luxury. But it is our profession.

So here’s a simple observation: Rainbow color palettes have become popular again, a trend that is certainly related to the events of our time. We are familiar with the rainbow flag, which is mostly associated with the social movements surrounding the LGBTQI+ community. However, the rainbow color combination is more than that. It stands for tolerance and acceptance of diversity, for unity and peace. It symbolizes the idea of a peaceful coexistence everyone can contribute to. Rainbow colors are thus a fashion statement and can be worn as a symbol of peace.

Joy of Discovery: Katerina Perez visits HC Arnoldi

This November we were fortunate to host a visit from famous jewellery blogger and Instagram influencer Katerina Perez. Her name has long been familiar to jewellery enthusiasts from all over the globe. Crowned a “jewellery insider”, Katerina has been sharing her knowledge and insights into the jewellery business for already 12 years.

We invited Katerina right into our workshop to show her, as an insider, the in-between process of a stone from unremarkable rough to a stunning gem. It was all about this “middle moment” as Katerina calls it, the slicing, pre-shaping and several stages of the cutting process every gemstone undergoes.

Katerina was visibly impressed by watching the cutting experts in the workshop, how they cut and polish freehand and by eye – and by the exceptional results of all kinds of colors and shapes of the finished gemstones. She was also fascinated by what she called “the ideal blend of heritage and modernity” that can be experienced here at HC Arnoldi in Kirschweiler.

The Shows must go on!

First we did Vicenzaoro. Next our local home game Intergem. Then The Show in Hamburg. Munich and Geneva are going to follow.

After long months of social distancing, we are finally back on track in the middle of trade fair events. We are happy to say that we are experiencing an overall cheerful mood with a clearly optimistic tendency towards business opportunities. Also, it has become apparent that trade fairs still perform a valuable and appreciated function as personal get-togethers of the industry. The desire and joy for in-person meetings are even stronger than before.

Fortunately the crisis has spurred new ideas and accelerated digital development in the trade fair business. It is now all about hybrid trade fair models, where real and sensual communication situations are intertwined with digital, non-location-specific communication.

The Show in Hamburg was a good example for this. Nevertheless, nothing brings more inspiration and enthusiasm than real-live contact with people and products. It is the heart of every trade show event and an experience we now even feel grateful for.

Cheers to our trainees!

This September, too, we welcome a new trainee to our team. On this occasion, let’s take a look at probably our greatest asset here: our trainees. We have five dedicated young women and men who are training for the professions of gemstone cutters and industrial managers with us. They are currently in their first, second or third year of their apprenticeship and come from the local gemstone area as well as the surrounding region. And, let me put it this way: They are our very special “gemstones”. Five unique characters who are moving forward on their path of refinement, with an eager and joyful focus on their training. Where else than in the craftsmanship of gemstone cutting does the inner development meet so well with the exterior activity of the profession! Every day, we handle rough stones, identify their distinctive characteristics and work out their best features they uniquely can give to the world. Every day, we train the steps of refinement, which transform rough pieces into precious and beautiful gemstones. Cheers to our trainees! We are proud to have them here with us.

Finding “The One”

Hunting for a special gemstone is sometimes like searching for the ideal partner. When we start hunting for “the one”, we look for the phantastic, ideal, perfectly matching one. The one that captivates our attention. The one that meets our expectations. The one that makes us stop looking for another. But how do we know when we find “the one”? This is the paradox of choice of our times. We have choices we’ve never had before, still we are sometimes uncertain about them. We have to trust ourselves!

Playful Paraiba Pieces

When children play, they create entire universes. They may even play on their own, but in their play world, they are never alone. They play different characters at a time. Through play, they explore the world and create their own world, filled with stories, dramas and sceneries.

When we in our adult lives try to stay playful, we can conquer the world too. We may play differently, but it is still one of the most powerful expressions of creativity. And we play to test new solutions.

Here is what we tested: Tempted by the fact that Paraiba Tourmaline belongs to the higher priced gemstones and therefore, by traditional conviction, should be taken seriously when cutting, we wanted to push the boundaries and started to play around.

As a result, we got some playful pieces of polished Paraiba, ready to be worn in an exceptional piece of jewelry that symbolizes the new modern: classy with an unconventional and unpretentious twist. Are you ready to join the play?

Sunny Beryls with Sunglasses

Summer is here! Time to be out again and enjoying the sun. Has there ever been a color that felt as right and as liberating than a luscious yellow? Bright bold yellow like the summer sun. Finally, we are over and done with our sweatpants and dress up again. And look beautiful! How about some white leather shoes, a gorgeous blue dress or spectacular blue trousers paired with yellow beryl earrings? An eye-catcher full of lifelines, shining bright and carefree like summer itself. Sunny beryls with sunglasses. And from somewhere in the distant George Gershwin’s immortal melody:

Summertime, and the livin’ is easy
Fish are jumpin’ and the cotton is high

Pear-shape Beryls on Helmut Newton´s Woman in Pantsuit

“I am a professional voyeur,” as photographer Helmut Newton once said. We immediately think of his legendary portraits of women. But he also depicted jewelry in an extremely spectacular way. There is, for example, a photograph of Liz Taylor posing in a swimming pool, wearing an uber-luxurious diamond and gemstone necklace. In a controversial picture for Vogue, he presented expensive Bulgary gemstone jewelry on a roasted chicken.

Putting provocation aside, we favored placing our freshly cut pear-shape beryls on one of Helmut Newton’s most famous women. The one in the pantsuit smoking a cigarette, with that thoughtful and cool expression. Our vintage-cut beryls match the mood perfectly. They are bold and prominent but at the same time exude a comfortably casual nonchalance.

Let’s imagine these vintage beryls on a beautiful, strong woman. Now we only need an observer to capture the moment and maybe even make it last for a while. We need an audience who delights in the beautiful, absorbs the vibrations of the colors and enjoys the moment.

Dream vacation for the hand wrist

Why cognac-colored tourmalines are just right now!

Take a look at the colors of international catwalks or high street collections of fashion brands and you will instantly realize: 2021 is all about natural tones. This does not come as a surprise, given that Pantone’s Color of the Year often sets the tone for the consumers. This year’s trend colors are “Ultimate Gray” and “Illuminating” yellow. The light gray color reminds of stones and rocks – thus embodies all things solid, everlasting, anchoring and familiar. Light gray also stands for the quiet comfort of boring jogging pants, concrete and everyday life. Thankfully, light grey is united with a friendly and vibrant yellow tone. This yellow vivacity conveys hope and the warming and optimistic spring sunshine. We are all in need of such an uplifting effect!

The coppery cognac color has a similarly cheerful and encouraging influence on us. The earthy shade between orange, brown, pink and yellow is reminiscent of nature and nativeness. We also get that enlightening color moment here: The calm, grounded color impression is uplifted thanks to the powerful color of orange. This interplay of different shades of colors attracts attention – but only, as the viewer takes a closer look. The cognac-colored tourmalines unfold their charm at a second glance. The tourmalines reflect warmth and a grounded, pure and healthy zest for life.

Colorful Winter Wonderland

Have you ever looked at a snowy landscape through a gemstone?

It’s a neat experience to challenge your perception a little bit. Perhaps you know this special feeling when you see the first snow in winter, this unexpected atmosphere of stasis and uniformity:
All of a sudden everything looks white, bright and covered up. Because of the lack of color, we start perceiving shapes and silhouettes clearer than before, we even hear differently.

This is the right moment to bring in some color! An obvious thought of people who love colors as much as we do.
Why not take a look through a multicolored tourmaline and see how a snowy landscape in a color graduation from mint green to white rosé to pinkish red looks like.

2020 – a little review

In these challenging times we are all living through it is not always easy to keep our spirits up. Which is okay, we don’t want to ignore reality. But it is also good to always continue noticing, appreciating and anticipating the good things around us.

2020 has also brought us many highlights. We have been working in our new company building for exactly one year now. There is enough space for social distancing rules – timing couldn’t have been better! Fortunate we are also for our young trainees that have joined our team. We are also genuinely grateful for our new, curious customers who have reached out to us through social media from all over the world. Last but not least, we were very lucky to find an exceptionally beautiful lot of raw aquamarine stones. These aquamarine pairs are newly cut and our latest highlight from our workshop.

Christmas Special: Peridot Set

Friendly Norwegian Peridots in a Christmas set.
Our most outstanding Christmas Special of this year: the Norwegian Peridot gemstone set! It consists of six magnificent gemstones in different shapes and sizes that can be combined in various ways into perfectly matching ensembles. Do you fancy the marquise shaped gemstone to be worn as a ring or a pendant? Are you going to create simple round ear studs with a multi-piece pendant? FINALLY A GEM FAIR!

Finally experience gemstones again! Cultivate personal relationships again, take stones in your hand and admire them in different light, see the latest cut gems and be inspired!

The INTERGEM Idar-Oberstein will take place from October 2 to 5, 2020 in the exhibition center in Idar-Oberstein. Of course, everything will take place under safe conditions and in compliance with the hygiene concept. We see our participation in the trade fair as a sign of cohesion and we are pleased about every visitor and customer we can welcome at our booth H1.207.

Now we would like to present one of our new highlights; an aquamarine, from Mozambique in antique cut (27,46 carat, 20,5×18,5mm).
For all Tourmaline lovers we have freshly cut Tourmalines in autumn tones. Of course we also have some specials like an extraordinary pair of copper tourmalines from Mozambique.

We wish all of us an enjoyable fair and look forward to meeting our customers in person again soon. At a distance, but no less warmly.

With the launch of the exclusive B2B online store GEMHYPE.COM, part of the HC Arnoldi gemstone collection is now available online. Isaline and Carl-Philip Arnoldi have created an ecommerce store for commercial customers of the jewelry . The product range has been selected especially to serve small and medium-sized jewelry manufacturers. The new shop allows a fast, convenient and easy gemstone shopping experience. Besides enjoying round-the-clock availability with a highly efficient ordering system, top priority lies on the consistent high quality of the gemstones. It is of utmost importance for the founders to offer the greatest possible transparency regarding the origin and treatment of the stones. All offered gemstones come from conflict-free countries and are responsibly traded. They are mostly cut and polished in-house in the region of Idar-Oberstein and are shipped in sustainable packaging. Aquamarine with a difference.

It is thanks to Megan Markle’s striking appearance on her wedding day in 2018 that we have been blessed with a new gemstone trend since then. The moment she was witnessed wearing Princess Diana’s legendary aquamarine ring on her finger, the gemstone trend of the years to come had been set. Right after her big day, it has all been about aquamarine, especially in a rectangular emerald cut shape, ideally in eight to ten carats, to be worn as a classic cocktail ring. Adorned with such a classic aquamarine ring, the dream to look and feel like royalty must have come true for many women all over the globe.  We would never have imagined in our wildest dreams that such valuable marketing could happen for us overnight – after all, HC Arnoldi is known for aquamarines and for classic cuts. We are certainly happy about this global aquamarine revival over the last years. However, we would also welcome a shift to bolder and more unconventional aquamarine shapes again. We think it is time to see more brave new cuttings like this from our workshop:

Here are two ice-blue aquamarine slices in a fancy cut, approx. 20x18mm, 31.22 carats in total, origin Madagascar.

Cabochon Inspiration

You are planning your next jewellery collection and you need some new ideas and inspiration?
Well, we have exactly what you need! Isaline Arnoldi designed colorful bracelets which are made out of Tourmaline-Cabochons. Isaline created two different Designs. One is a little bit more casual, the other one is with furthermore Cabochons assembled and looks more massive and flashy.

Both Cabochon-Bracelets attract attention because of the wonderful Tourmaline. Tourmalines are characterized by the wide color diversity, as you can see in the Bracelet. The different varieties of tourmaline are from dark green, light green up to an intense pink. Everything is included.

The Tourmalines are fresh from our cutting factory this week. They have a beautiful quality and impress many cabochon lovers with their different colours.

Workshop news

Small but nice: These adorable beryl pairs have just been cut and we love them! A pair of morganites (7.25cts) and a pair of yellow beryls (7.49cts) in cushion shape.

They are pretty and impressive without being attention-grabbing. We took the best African material and our cutter did an excellent job. The stones are bright and vivid, with lots of fire. It is the cut that makes them so special. They come in diamond cut, not in the usual star cut for colored stones. The diamond cut allows the facets on the bottom to run down in long lines from the girdle to the point culet, which contributes to the stone’s clear and sophisticated appearance. The square cushion shape was the most popular diamond shape until the early 20th century, when it was replaced by the round shape. We believe that the classic shape and cut are particularly suitable for the youthful and summery colors of our beryls.

Do I need a certificate for my gemstone?

The demand for gemstone certificates is higher than ever. This trend is closely related to the ongoing internationalization of gemstone business activities and the rise of online trading platforms. In addition, customers today have in general higher expectations regarding information about the origin and treatment of gemstones. In the early days of the gemological institutes, certificates were mainly issued for comparatively expensive stones such as diamonds, rubies, sapphires and emeralds. It was not until the second half of the 20th century that exceptionally beautiful and large aquamarines, tourmalines and garnets were sporadically certified, being the exception amongst their “precious” counterparts. In the past twenty years, gemstone certification for colored stones of all kinds and sizes have gained significant importance, especially for the international market.

It is most important that the assessment of a gemstone’s identity is solely based on professional scientific analyses and laboratory procedures. Therefore it is key to choose an independent and neutral institution for gemstone certification. The most internationally renowned gemological laboratories include Gübelin and SSEF from Switzerland and GIA from the USA. The German Gemstone Research Foundation (DSEF) which is based in Idar-Oberstein has established itself as a recognized gemological laboratory in Germany.  For those of our gemstones whose beauty and rarity requires it, we have DSEF certificates issued right after final polishing. We also offer in-house authenticity or origin reports upon customer request. In our opinion, colored gemstone certification certainly continues to gain importance.
In addition, certificates will provide more detailed information in the future, as customers gradually want to understand the entire value and supply chain of their gemstone.

The fourth generation of gemstone experts

Enthusiastic and with a healthy down-to-earth attitude.

The Arnoldi family has a real fascination for gemstones. Carl Friedrich Arnoldi, a skilled gemstone cutter, established his company in 1919 in Idar-Oberstein, Germany. 100 years later, the fourth generation siblings Isaline and Carl-Philip Arnoldi have joined the business. They run the company together with their father Hubert Arnoldi. They bring creative ideas, curiosity and enthusiasm, paired with a healthy down-to-earth attitude.

The three entrepreneurs pay attention to sustainable development in the gemstone industry, focusing on the origin, but also the production standards of the gemstones. This is one important reason for the newly constructed company building in Kirschweiler near Idar-Oberstein. The company adheres to its business philosophy of regional production. After all, this is the best possible way to accompany the gemstones from mine to market.
One of the things that maintained the same for many years is the company’s highly specialized range of colored gemstones. It consists of top quality Beryls -especially Aquamarines-, Tourmalines, Garnets and Tanzanites.
Thus, when hearing the name “Arnoldi”, many customers automatically think of Aquamarines.
This kind of “brand awareness” is one of the company’s biggest achievements in 100 years of history. It is the fourth generation’s determination to maintain and improve it for the future.

International Women’s Day

Since 1911, women across the world have been celebrating the International Women’s Day on March 8th. This day is very important and stands for the rights of women and the long way  – which isn’t over yet – into a world that stands for equality. 
We are very fortunate that our team now consists of more than 10 women. All areas of activity of the company are covered: from the processing of rough stones to finished gemstones through sales, organization and marketing.

The Aquamarine – since day one part of the tradition!

The Arnoldi family grew up with the aquamarine. It is one of the first gemstones the founder Carl-Friedrich Arnoldi started cutting.
Since then we have been providing aquamarines in a big variety of shapes, shades of blue, sizes and always in the best quality that Mother Earth provides.

The picture on the left shows one of our masterpieces: a 43,57 carat santa maria color aquamarine.

Innovation tied with tradition.

2020 – moving into a new company building.

In the upcoming two months we are not only preparing for Christmas and the New Year, but a whole new chapter is about to begin for our gemstone cutting company. As a milestone in the 100-year-old company history – we are moving to our brand new building.
At the turn of the year, we are moving to Kirschweiler, which is not far from our previous location in Idar-Oberstein. The picture shows the current construction process of the building.

We already look forward to welcoming you to visit our new building in 2020 and are happy to present the gems in our new environment soon. Until then, we will keep you updated.

Upcoming Event 

Next week, this year’s Intergem takes place in the gemstone capital Idar-Oberstein. In addition to jewelery, gemstones are the focus of the show. As the last years, the Arnoldi family will be represented at the fair. The team of HC Arnoldi is pleased to present the range of aquamarine, tourmaline, beryl, tanzanite and many other unique gems. 

The Intergem is considered as of the industry hotspots to exchange and trade on the fascination of gemstone. Not only for the region, the fair is a highlight in the year. Besides the local visitors, there are many designers, goldsmiths, dealers and jewelers from all over the world. They are coming to have look at the latest products of partially local gemstone lapidaries, shopping and to find out about the latest trends in the gemstone industry.
